My guest today is a young Iranian/American Christian student and Human Rights activist who talks about the situations of Christians in Iran in 2014. I'm often amazed and impressed by the new Iranian generation outside Iran.
I think there's a misperception about the new generation of Iranians outside the country. People may think of them as a generation that wants to have fun all the time and is buried in its cell phone and don't care about anything. My guest Donya Akhavan is a political Science student in US and although she wasn't born in Iran, she loves and respects Iran so much so that she calls herself Iranian. Her parents fled Iran after witnessing the atrocities against Christians after Ayatollah Khomenei took over the People's 1979 Revolution. Donya's family like millions of other Iranians became a refugee over night before arriving to US. Donya has never been in Iran but her activism for a free Iran continues on.
