About:

SenseHear was born Cedric J. Taylor on Aug. 30, 1984 in San Antonio, Tx to Woodrow and Angela Taylor. As a child he was constantly exposed to 'oldies gut goldies' and blues/R&B/soul music and his dream was to be an R&B star. He started singing at age 5, started to express himself through poetry at age 7, and started rapping at age 11. As he grew older his poetry started gaining national attention, and as a junior at Roosevelt High School, he was given two different publishing offers. After declining, he went on to study music at Our Lady of the Lake University, but dropped out because he knew that he wasn't focused. He knew that he belonged to music, but he didn't know how. Around 2004, he decided that he wanted to be a 'behind-the-scenes' guy (producer, engineer, etc.) and in May 2005 he joined the Air Force after solidifying a Radio & TV Broadcasting position. During Summer Exodus in Aug. 2005, he returned home and was reunited with high school friend Michael "Lo-Key" Guillory, who had started rapping with IcePick Records. They spent time in the studio together and Royal T, who was going by 'ChillMode' at the time, jumped on his first track. It was while stationed at Incirlik AB, Turkey and making music with a group he was a member of called The Coalition, that he realized his niche was in hip hop. While looking at his uniform in the mirror, he realized that his last name, TAYLOR, backwards is almost Royal T, and that became his monikker. The day he was released from the Air Force was the same day Lo-Key was released from prison and they immediately hooked back up and started making music again. In October 2006, Lo-Key founded Champion Blood Line Ent. and Royal T has been his right-hand-man since. Their debut mixtape, Pure Bred & Kuntry Fed Vol. 1, garnered enough buzz to get CBL Ent. signed to a mid-level label, but the deal went sour. With the birth of his son and the start of his legal troubles in 2008, Royal T let his music take the back seat to focus on his family. After breaking up with his son's mother at the end of 2009, he was incarcerated in the beginning of 2010 for a probation violation. He was released in June and was only out for 3 1/2 mths before violating again and getting sentenced to 12 mths kill paper. During this time he redefined himself as an artist and added SenseHear to his monikker (cuz everything I spit makes sense, hear?). Since his release in Oct. 2011, he's been back in the studio working on his first solo project, Underrated & Overlooked, coming soon...
