Today is Pohela Boishak, it is biggest festival for Bengali. So, we of course enjoy Pohela Boishakh but we should remember our environment should be saved. Because, if environmental pollution is could happen than it would affect our health as well. So, make healthy people, we should save our environment from pollution. So, it would statement for Pohela Boishakh that, we would be celebrate this day with care our environment and health.
Last 7 April was World Health Day. Environmental pollution could make peoples sick. That is why this radio talk show focused theme of World Health Day 2012.
Ibnul Sayeed Rana, Chairman of Nirapad Development Foundation and Syed Mahbubul Alam, Advocate and Policy Analyst were talked.
Mr. Ibnul Sayeed Rana focused urbanization and its pollution how affects environment and health. He told that, in Dhaka, there is no sufficient play ground, parks, water bodies which are more important for city. Meanwhile, huge roads and traffic also polluted cities environment.
Syed Mahbubul Alam, policy analyst and advocate told, we should focus on prevention of disease, not treatment. Environmental pollution is responsible for Non-Communicable Disease (NCD), including Cancer. So, we should more care about our environment. Department of Environment is tried to improve environment, but is not well coordinated with governmental bodies.
Urbanization should be environment friendly, not against environment.
