Orange Afternoon

He’s alone again
An orange afternoon
But all he sees is blue
As the sun sets behind the moon

Anticipates the day
When he’ll see her again
But so briefly they connect
And their romance becomes condensed

On their heavenly rendezvous
He wears her like a mask
Their affair recalls
Shadows of some distant past

Now he’s alone again
A tangerine day
No eclipse could ever
Take this midnight away

She tries to keep herself
Warm in the dark
It gets colder
Whenever they’re apart
He fills her with his
Venerating light
And all is right
But only for tonight

The sorrow of the sun
Gazing from above
Forever distanced from
The silver light he loves

So he waits so impatiently
In enduring solitude
Daydreams smoldering
On this lonely orange afternoon
